At BHCC we give 10% of regular offerings to our Outreach budget. This money is used to support local, national and international charities. Here are some examples:
- Every Christmas BHCC donates $500 to Emily Murphy Non-Profit Housing in Blackburn Hamlet to help buy turkeys for their single-parent families
- We support two missionary families, one based in Angola and the other in Kazakhstan
- We have a child with Compassion Canada
- We’ve been providing support for a refugee family from the DRC by purchasing food, clothing, etc.
- We donate food to the Food Bank in Blackburn Hamlet on a monthly basis
As well as financial support, BHCC
- hosts a weekly drop-in for home daycare providers and their children on Friday mornings
- provides a meal of soup/cheese/biscuits/cookes to all who come on the Third Thursday of each month
- leads a worship service at AMICA on the last Sunday of each month
- we’ve also provided people to help with the Salvation Army Kettle Campaign at Christmas.
